SpaceCast (“the app”) is a local audio streaming app for Android. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. AirPlay and HomePod are trademarks of Apple Inc.
SpaceCast captures audio that is already playing on your phone and sends it over your local Wi-Fi network to a speaker you select (for example a HomePod). Capture starts only after you accept Android’s system prompt.
We do not operate a backend that collects personal data. The app does not create an account, does not include advertising, and does not include analytics.
On your device only, the app may store appearance settings such as theme and background style. Audio, speaker names, and track metadata are not uploaded to us.
Android requires the Microphone permission for playback capture. SpaceCast uses it to copy system audio (music, videos, games), not to record from the phone microphone. Captured audio is streamed only to the speaker you choose and is not stored by SpaceCast.
Optional. If you enable it, SpaceCast may read the current media notification (title, artist, artwork) so the speaker can show what is playing. It does not use other notifications for any other purpose.
While capture is on, Android requires a persistent notification. That notification stays on your device. We do not receive it.
Audio is sent only to speakers on your local network that you tap. We do not sell or share personal data.
The app is not directed at children under 13.
